Philip Van Avermaet is a Swiss photographer, born in Belgium, who lives in the wonderful region of Blonay, near the Lac Leman in Switzerland. When he was young, he experimented with analog photography. In the beginning, he was a little bit sceptic about digital photography.
It was only in 2009 that he bought his first Nikon Digital Reflex camera. End 2012 he found some artistic inspiration, when he bought his Nikon D800.
With this 36.3 Megapixel camera he discovered an new world of photography. He also started with the Smoke Art, and had his first exhibition in july 2013 in the Beauregard Gallery in Montreux, Switzerland.
The same year in november he participated in the Montreux Art Gallery exhibition. In 2014 his works could be seen in Beaulieu Lausanne and in the Gallery Photocraft of Ilia Schkolnik in Crissier.
Early 2014 Philip Van Avermaet came in contact with M. Kurt Blum from Swiss Art Gate UAE in Dubai. He visited Dubai during the Dubai Art Week and discovered a new world. Around Eastern 2015, 15 of his works shipped to Dubai, and Swiss Art Gate organized an exhibition in the Yas Viceroy Hotel – Light Box Gallery in Abu Dhabi. Later his works were also exposed in the “Art for a Cause” exhibition in the Al Bateen Palace in Abu Dhabi in support of the Wanna Read initiative from HH Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Khalifa al Nahyan. All these exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates are organized by M. Kurt Blum from Swiss Art Gate UAE.
Philip Van Avermaet loves the nature, and especially the region of Malaga, Andalusia, where he finds inspiration, good light conditions, and beautiful colors with the local traditions, and of course, also the beautiful region where he lives, Blonay, Montreux, Vevey….the Lac Leman region.
